The Property
Fjordheim stands at the head of a narrow fjord in the Lofoten Islands, 140 acres of shoreline and mountainside inside the Arctic Circle. The lodge was built in 2018 on the site of a nineteenth-century fishing station, and several of the original rorbuer were retained and rebuilt.
Thirty-two keys are split between the main lodge and twelve glass-roofed cabins set along the water's edge, positioned for aurora viewing from the bed. The main building is heated by a fjord-source heat pump and runs on hydroelectric supply.
The property has two distinct high seasons — the aurora months from October to March, and the midnight sun from late May to July — which between them produce a trading pattern with no true off-season.
